Gerald Blake, 86, of Garrettsville passed away Saturday September 24th 2016, with his loving family at his side. He was born 10 April 1930 in Woodside, Long Island, NY to Alton & Claire (Dawiczkovski) Blake.
He served proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War assigned on the USS Essex as an electronic technician. He worked as a secret aviation security technician at Multi National Forces, serving all over the world in Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Gerald was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church, American Legion Post #193, and the Heritage Foundation. He graduated from William Colten Bryant High School in Queens, NY.
Gerald’s love of life and huge knowledge of the world made him one to whom many came for information and advice.
He is survived by his loving wife Debra, daughter Patricia (Russell) Ziese; grandchildren Claire and Eric Ziese.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Anne.
