Mary Ann L. Michalski, 79, of Medina, Ohio passed away at home surrounded by family on July 19, 2023. She was born October 16, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois to the late William and Annamarie (Bukszar) Ginter.
Mary Ann grew up in the Buckeye Rd. neighborhood of Cleveland, Ohio with her brothers and many of her cousins. She married Raymond Michalski in 1967, in Cleveland and from there settled in Grafton, Ohio where they raised their four children: Michelle, Susan, Raymond and Sandy. Mary Ann retired from Chase Bank as a Head Teller. She enjoyed spending her time bowling, gardening her flower beds and potted seasonal flowers, attending Midview High School football games to see Sandy, perform in the marching band and Midview High School Boys and Girls Basketball games to see Raymond, Susan and Michelle compete.
Mary Ann and Ray enjoyed traveling early in their marriage to Niagara Falls and Mackinaw Island. Over the years there was an annual trip to Las Vegas or Florida often with grandchildren. Mary Ann also enjoyed afternoons with her niece Laura and sharing family meals with her nephew Todd and his family. Her favorite dessert was ice cream, which she enjoyed on her deck swing on a summer evening. Mary Ann carried a kind and gentle nature towards all. She would sit with the ill and deliver meals to individuals who were homebound.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond J. Michalski, and Brother Raymond Ginter.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter; Michelle Michalski (Dan Miles) of Clifton, Virginia, daughter Susan (Scott) Snyderburn of Medina, Ohio, son Ray (Maggie) Michalski of Lewis Center, Ohio, and daughter Sandy (Gerald) Tomaszycki of Elyria, Ohio, grandchildren; Michael (Kayla) Aaron, Derek and Jacob Snyderburn, Nicole Tomaszycki and Katlynn (Ashland) Cotrell, and Alexis and RJ Michalski, great-grandchildren; Madison, Sophia, Ashland and Caiden, brother; William Ginter and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to share their gratitude for the care provided by the Hospice of Western Reserve.
Friends may join the family on Wednesday July 26th, 2023 from 9-11 am for Memorial Visitation at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services 3477 Medina Road (Corner of Route 18 & River Styx) Medina, Ohio 44256. A committal service will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. Following the committal service, a luncheon will be held at Shale Creek Clubhouse 5420 Wolff Road Medina, Ohio 44256.
