Knapp, 70 years old of Windham, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at his residence. He was born January 12, 1941 in Ravenna Ohio to the late Herman and Clara (Wymer) Knapp. Allen served in the U.S. Air Force in the Vietnam Era and was an asphalt technician for GenCore. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Allen raised Doberman pinchers and Persian and Himalayan cats, and enjoyed showing his ’83 Porshe at car shows. He is survived by his wife, Jean (DeZort) Knapp whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage on July 15, 1961; son, Mark (Christine) of Ravenna; daughter, Sondra (Robert) Boston of Dayton; brother, Garylee (Joyce) Kanpp of Ravenna; sister, Barbara (Dwayne) Cannon of Ravenna; and four grandchildren, Samantha, Madison, Derek, and Brianna. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, George. A Funeral Mass will held at 11 AM on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 10692 Freedom St., Garrettsville, OH 44231, with Fr. Leo Wehrlin officiating. Burial will be at Drakesburg Cemetery in Freedom Twp. at a later date.
