Andreas Pfaff, Sr., 86, of Hiram, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 25, 1931 in Gunia, Yugoslavia to Heinrich and Elizabeth (Dominik) Pfaff. Andreas married the love of his life, Ethel Bauer, on November 19, 1955. They have been happily married for more than 62 years. He proudly served in the United States Army as a medic with the 11th Airborn.
He enjoyed camping and fishing. Andreas was a Cub Master. He retired from Anchor Tool and Die. Andreas was a bricklayer who built his home with his own hands, even using a net to take rocks from the river. He loved spending time with his family, friends and his garden.
Andreas is survived by his wife, Ethel; children, Andreas (Cyndi) Pfaff, Jr., Theresa Gibson, Evelyn (Samuel) Fasciana and Michael Pfaff; 6 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother, Edward (Nubia) Pfaff; sister, Kathe Bretz; sister in law, Gertrude Pfaff.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Philip Pfaff; sister, Hilde Radke; brother in law, Henry Bretz and sister in law, Amelia Pfaff.
Memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 3-7 PM at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Ohio. Memorial Service with full military honors to follow at 7 PM with Father Edward Stafford officiating. Burial to be held at a later date.
