Andrew “Andy” H. Conrad, Jr., 85 of Brunswick passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011. He was born November 9, 1925 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Andrew H. and Cora B. (nee Renz) Conrad Sr.
He was a plumber for Rollier Brothers Plumbing and Heating, a member of the American Legion Post #234 Richard Davenport, the V.F.W. Post #9520, Plumber’s Union #27, the U.S.S. Missouri Association, and St. Ambrose Parish. He was a United States Navy Veteran serving on The U.S.S. Missouri; enjoyed wood crafting, playing cards, playing bingo, and travelling the United States.
Mr. Conrad is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Madeline P. (nee Faas) Conrad; children Elaine (Raymond) Skerlong of Glenshaw, Pennsylvania, Bonnie (Robert) Chambers of Pittsburgh, and Mary Beth (Richard) Skowronski of Brunswick; grandchildren Jodi (Stephen) Susnak, Raymond (Carolyn) Skerlong, Jill (David) Hardek, Brian (Courtney) Skerlong, Christopher Skowronski, and Scott Skowronski; and great-grandchildren Brittaney, Emily, Andrew, Nicole, Shane, Aubrey, Troy, and Jacob.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Cora Hughes.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, February 3, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Route 303), Brunswick and one hour prior to Service at Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 11:30 A.M. at St. Ambrose Parish, 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick. Interment will follow in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
