BARBARA B. BAER

September 26, 1934 — November 30, 2017

Barbara B. Baer, 83, of Garrettsville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 30, 2017 of Pancreatic Cancer at Cleveland Clinic Marymount in Garfield Heights. She was born on September 26,1934 in Alleghany County, Virginia to Clyde and Helen (Auvil) Bennett.

Her greatest joys in life was her family and she loved becoming a grandmother and great grandmother. The family get together's no matter how loud always made her smile and she expressed many times how it warmed her heart to have a close family.

Barbara was raised in Clarksville, PA by her grandmother Manerva Bane Bennett. She had fond memories of her life there & always looked forward to the Bennett Reunion as well her class reunions.

Barbara loved children and it was obvious as she created the Nelson Rural Kids Club and gave back to the community by getting kids involved in arts and crafts and taking them on field trips. Barbara also volunteered weekly with the Windham and Garrettsville Elementary Schools and the Renaissance Family Center in Windham doing crafts with the children for many years as well as teaching Sunday School at her church. Her hobbies were quilting, crocheting and her flower gardens which she took such pride in and always made look so decorative. Her great love of the promises of the scriptures and her relationship with the Creator was always apparent.

Barbara graduated from Jefferson High School in Jefferson, Greene County, Pennsylvania then she attended University of Pittsburg where she studied education. She retired from General Electric Trumbull Plant in Warren Ohio. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Nelson, Ohio. She also loved her women's group and other groups.

She is survived by sons Paul (Cindy) Dragovich of Windham, Jeffery Dragovich of Nelson and daughters Nancy (Rodger) Dragovich Miller of Lake Milton, Deborah Dragovich of Newton Falls, ReBecca (William) Dragovich Mzik of Garrettsville. Her grandchildren Sonya Miller of Lake Milton, Trina Miller (Larry Pew) of Canal Fulton, Keith (Eryka) Richmond of Braceville, Charles Richmond (Danyell Miller) of Sebring, Barbara Richmond-Hall of Poland, Ashley Richmond (Darrin) Rose of Alliance, Jody Richmond (David Miller) of Brimfield, Nicholas Richmond of Brimfield and 16 great grandchild all of whom she loved with all her heart. She lost her husband Franklin David Baer April 5, 1997 to Leukemia who she married June 17, 1972 in Nelson Township, Ohio and her sister Doris Bennett Wise of Garrettsville, Ohio.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the group of doctors and nurses at the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center as well as the hospital for all their kindness they expressed.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, December 16,2017 starting at 2PM at the Renaissance Family Center, 9005 Wil Verne Drive, Windham, Ohio 44288.
