BARBARA "BARB" LYNN WARD

Barbara “Barb” Lynn Ward, age 91 of Lodi, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2024, with her family by her side.

Barb was born on February 28, 1933, in Cleveland, Ohio to Richard and Edythe (Camper) Wetzel. She married Ralph Ward in April of 1955 and had one daughter, Roberta (Ward) Coalter. Barb worked for the IRS and then went on to The Department of the Navy/Defense where she was a supervisor in military pay. She loved to read, watch movies, and travel. Barb enjoyed going out with her friends and family for meals. She found joy in reading and understanding history. Barb was an avid follower of politics and a faithful Republican. She was a great cook and made the best pies. 

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ralph, brother, Douglas Wetzel, brother-in-law, Robert Ward, and sister-in-law, Clarisse Ward.

Barb will be deeply missed by her daughter, Roberta “Bobbie” (Joe) Coalter, granddaughter, Kelsie, niece and nephew, Peter and Michelle (Ward) Baron, grandnephew, Geoffrey (Julie) Baron, their children Avery and McKenzie, grandniece, Courtney (Tim) Knapp, her dog, Poppy, and cat, Sassy.

Friends and family may come to call on Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 1:00-2:30 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home, 3477 Medina Road, Medina. Memorial service, conducted by Joe Coalter will take place at 2:30 with a celebration of life and fellowship to follow. 

Barb will be inurned next to her husband at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery on Monday, August 12, 2024, at 1:15 p.m with a procession departing Carlson Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m.
