BEATRICE "BEA" M. OWENS-ALLEN

Beatrice Margaret Owens-Allen, age 75, of Brunswick, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021. She was born on December 1, 1946, at Cleveland, Ohio to Hilton and Beatrice (nee Sawyer) Owens.

She loved to spend time in her garden, baking, volunteering in the community, plan events and socialize with friends, crafting, and most of all, spending time with her husband, daughter, and grandchildren. Beatrice worked at Ohio Bell for 26 years before retiring. While at Ohio Bell, Bea was able to obtain her Bachelors degree in Social Work. Following her retirement, she utilized her social work degree to work at several places within the community such as the Medina County Jail, in Medina, Ohio; Hannah Elementary School, in Parma, Ohio; and Pearlview Skilled Nursing Home, in Brunswick, Ohio. When she finally finished her second career, Bea finished out her community service work at Life's Treasures Hospice Thrift Store in Medina, Ohio.

She was a member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Cleveland, Ohio.

Beatrice is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Allen; daughter, Keir Pennington; grandchildren, Serria, Isaiah, and Kaisen; brothers, Hilton Owens Jr, and Jerome Owens.

Bea was preceded in death by her parents, Hilton and Beatrice Owens.

Please join the family for a Memorial Visitation for Bea on Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM in Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Rd., (1/2 mile south of Route 303), Brunswick, Ohio. Facial coverings are suggested but not required. Please observe recommended social distancing guidelines. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM December 12, 2021, in the funeral home.
