BENJAMIN JOHN DASTOLI

Benjamin John Dastoli, age 76 of Medina, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at his residence. He was born on February 9, 1940 to Vincent and Victoria (nee Carchedi) Dastoli in Youngstown, Ohio. Ben was employed with NASA for 33 years as an Electrical Engineer. Ben and Virginia (nee Ballone) were married on June 15, 1963. Ben enjoyed playing golf, model airplanes, reading science fiction and technology.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife; children, Carrie, Benjamin (Kathi), Vicki (Chris) Freas; grandchildren, Krista, Cory, Ariel, Joshua, Jesse, Jonah, Jayson and Jacob; his brother Tony (Sondra), his brother-in-law George Huncik and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Carmela Huncik and Angela Bryer.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, June 22, 2016 from 11 AM to 1 PM with a Funeral Service at 1 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (corner of River Styx & Rt. 18), Medina, Ohio 44256. Burial to follow in Spring Grove Cemetery.

Caring, compassionate, humble, brilliant. Just a few words to describe the unmatchable legacy of Ben Dastoli. He was the “Human Encyclopedia”, recently upgraded to, “Mr. Google”. Ask him anything from movie scenes to complex math problems and he could accurately answer. There will be a huge void in our hearts and lives now that we are separated from him. However, we find comfort in knowing that this intelligent mind also knew the key to salvation through our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. We will miss you, Papa.
