Bernice Ann Pilkington (nee Reed), 61 of Brunswick passed away on Friday, April 22, 2011. She was born September 30, 1949 in Cleveland to Jacob and Helen (nee Millard) Reed and was the first of the original 500 women at Ford of Brook Park and the first female High-low driver for Ford, retiring from there in 2006 after 32 years of service.
She was a member of the UAW Local #1250 and was currently employed as a customer service representative at Totally Tan in Brunswick. She loved “my” family activities especially holidays and doting on her grandchildren, enjoyed playing all card games especially canasta, loved cooking for her family and friends and was the family activities director.
Bernice is survived by her loving husband David of Brunswick; loving children David Michael (Karen) Pilkington and Tonya (Robert) Turnick of Brunswick, Jacob Reed of Florida, and Michael Ray of Columbia Station; loving grandchildren Bo, Britani and Mason Pilkington; Bobby, Zachary, Collin and Kyle Turnick; and Elijah Williams; father Jacob Reed Sr. of Oklahoma; brother Jacob Reed Jr. of Utah; and her previous husband Wilbert “Bill” Williams of West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her mother Helen.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Route 303), Brunswick. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 12:00 PM at Brunswick Reform Church, 3535 Grafton Road, Brunswick with Rev. Donald Poest officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Memorial Gardens, Hinckley.
