BETTY JEAN LONG

Betty Jean Long, 83, of Garrettsville, passed away March 5, 2011 in Ravenna, Ohio in the presence of her loving family. She was born September 2, 1927 in Ravenna, Ohio to Robert and Clara (Fifer) Montigney.

Betty worked at Pelsue Drug Store for over 39 years. She was a longtime member of Garrettsville United Methodist Church. Betty was a fifty year member of Garrettsville Eastern Star Chapter #7, a fifty year member of Beebe Rebekah’s Lodge #405 in Ravenna, and a Shin Kickers Card Club member. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, crocheting, knitting, playing cards, flowers, bird watching, and going out to eat with family and friends.

She is survived by her sons Bob (Elaine) Long of Garrettsville, and Dave (Carole) Long of Garrettsville; sister Tillie (Bill) Owen of Garrettsville; grandchildren Mandy (Tim) Duncan, Marcy Gast, Matt Long, and Erin Long; and many special friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Robert Earl Long, her parents, brother Arthur Kline, and sister Nina Maur.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 from 5-8 P.M. and one hour prior to funeral services at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. Rebecca Services will be at 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville.
