Beverly “Bev” Lingenfelter, age 83 of Lakewood, New York, passed away on July 12, 2024, surrounded by family.
Bev was born on March 22, 1941, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania to Harold and Geneva (Dinger) Hoffman. She graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1959. Bev began working at Southwestern Area Federal Credit Union in 1972 and worked as a manager for over 25 years. She married the love of her life, Tom Lingenfelter on July 15, 1960, and they were married for 55 years. Bev loved to travel and go on vacations. She enjoyed walking, spending time outdoors, and gardening. Bev was an avid New York Yankees fan and watched all their games. She liked to quilt and bake. Family was very important to her; she was a loving grandmother to her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister, Sandra Shreckengost.
Bev will be deeply missed by her children, Sheilah (George) Gulas of Medina, Ohio, and Thomas (Liz) Lingenfelter of Bemus Point, New York, two grandsons, Jack and Max Lingenfelter also of Bemus Point, New York, and two step-grandchildren, Jennifer Gulas of Brooklyn, New York, and Matt Gulas of Chicago, Illinois.
A private family service will be held. Visitation will not be observed.
Memorials may be made to the Tom and Bev Lingenfelter Education Fund at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation, 418 Spring St., Jamestown, NY 14701.
Care for Beverly was entrusted to Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, Ohio.
