BOB M. SOWA

Bob Sowa, 57, of Medina, left this world for the next on Oct. 29, 2022, while vacationing in his favorite place on earth, Key West, Florida. He was a cherished father, husband, son and brother.

Born in Dearborn, Michigan, Bob moved to Strongsville, Ohio, as a teenager. He graduated from Strongsville High School and later earned degrees from the Ohio State University and Baldwin-Wallace College. His intelligence, charm and wit led him to a successful career in sales. Over the years, he worked at Red Leonard Associates, LSI Industries and RTC, among other companies.

Though he lived in Ohio, his heart forever remained in Detroit, or "The D" as he affectionately referred to it. He was a lifelong fan of the Tigers, Red Wings, Lions and the University of Michigan. There was never an autumn Sunday when he wasn't in a Lions jersey.

He loved being on the water and throughout his life spent as much time as he could on inland lakes, Lake Erie and in his beloved Key West. He enjoyed playing guitar and was a huge fan of Kid Rock and Jimmy Buffett. His favorite days often included a spot in the sun, a cold beer, good music and good friends.

With a talent for telling stories and a sharp sense of humor, Bob was always quick to share a joke or funny tale. He surrounded people with laughter and joy.

Though he struggled with health issues in his final years, he always exuded a positive attitude, and shared his challenges to help others, often reminding family and friends that "each day is a gift."

His family will miss his stories, inside jokes, songs, laughter and the special times we shared with him.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Sherrie; daughters Sabrina and Savannah Sowa; bonus son James Kovach, aka "Jamesers"; father Bob Sowa Sr.; sisters Stacey Braun (Matt) and Sue Walton (Dave); mother-in-law and father-in-law Linda and Jim Pringle; brothers-in-law Art Snyder (Tish) and Wes Snyder (Tammy); sister-in-law Carolyn Jolley (Rudy); and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margery Sowa.

Please join the family for a Memorial Visitation for Bob on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 1 to 3 p.m. or 4 to 7 p.m., with a Memorial Service at 7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (Corner of Route 18 and River Styx Road), Medina, Ohio.
