BRENDA J. RODGERS

Brenda J. Rodgers, age 67, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2019, surrounded by her family. She was born May 17, 1952, in Welch, West Virginia, to James and Edith Mitchell. She married the love of her life, David H. Rodgers, in July of 1968, who preceded her in death in 2014 along with her daughter, Renee Bedocs, in 2016.

Brenda was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as grandma and great-grandma (Gi-Gi).

Brenda is survived by her brother and wife, Roy and Rita Mitchell; sister-in-law, Anna Rodgers; her three daughters, Linda Rodgers of Brunswick, OH, Donna (Donald) of Valley City, OH, JoAnn (Chris) Daum of Valley City; grandchildren, Heather (Lyle) Harrenstein, Rosemarie Futo, Jacob Chmura and Lauren Koshel, David Bedocs, Alisha (Parker) Dolezal, Richard Spence, Samantha and Tyler Daum; plus 4 great grandchildren, Lyle Jr., Layton, Logan, and Maisie Rae, as well as her many nephews and nieces. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

Brenda loved to love on people. She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her feel comfortable and loved. She made friends everywhere she went.

Brenda believed: “Do what’s right and do what’s good. Be kind and help others. The world can always use one more kind person."

Her life was a living example of the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

A very heartfelt thank you goes out to all the nurses and aides on the 2nd floor, dietary aides, housekeeping, Palliative Care and anyone else who cared for her at Cleveland Clinic in Medina, OH. Brenda loved the time she spent with each and every one of you.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services located at 1642 Pearl Road, Brunswick, OH 44212 (1/2 mile South of Route 303).

Funeral will be held at Carlson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 31, 2019, at 10 a.m., followed by interment at Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Brunswick, OH.
