BRENDA L. WISEMAN

Brenda Wiseman waited until Halloween and then left The Avenue of Medina for her final rest, passing as peacefully as she had wished.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Duane and Anna Grace Wiseman;she leaves behind her brother Lawrence Wiseman and his wife Nancy; nieces Lauren, Jill and Heidi; nephew Mark and their children, and many friends.

Brenda filled her life with variety in the places she lived and the jobs she held. She moved so many times she thought of creating her own moving company; and she never wanted a long term career. After graduating from Kent State University she was a teacher (Brunswick, she was Mrs. Sprecher for those years). She then got her Master's degree from Ohio University and became a principal, first in Homerville and then Portage County (She was Mrs. Murphy part of the time). Over the next years she was a drug counselor; the director of Medina County's runaway shelter; a teacher on the Navajo reservation; a bailiff and a secretary for her longtime friend Judge Judith Cross (for those years she was mostly Ms. Wiseman, a few years she was Mrs. Boring).

After moving to Florida to care for her parents Brenda did security work for their gated community; worked at a radio station; distributed Hallmark cards to stores; an did a few other jobs for short times. While caring for her mother Brenda wrote and published a book for and abut caregivers: Are All My Buttons Red?-a question her mom asked one day. And no matter where she lived or what job she held she made friends. Those she kept.

Brenda was born on January 6, 1949 and died October 31, 2021. She filled the time between those dates with dancing (learning tap and ballroom as an adult); including a dance with then Mayor Perk of Cleveland one New Year's Eve. She also, loved to travel especially the red rock country of the Southwest; she loved reading; she had been a fan of the Cleveland Browns since she worked at their training camp in Hiram when she was in high school; and she became a fan of the Cleveland Indians, attending a World Series game, bringing along a cardboard Jean Luc Pichard with the words "Make it so" attached.

It was Brenda's wish that there be no services. Instead she would like you to hoist a margarita in her honor, munch on some nachos, and dance while you can. Thanks go to the staff of The Avenue of Medina for the wonderful care during Brenda's last eight years and to Crossroads for making her final journey a peaceful one.
