BRUCE FICHTER

Bruce Fichter, age 87, of Medina, Ohio, passed away on April 13, 2021. He was born on April 6, 1934 in Walland, Tennessee to George and Carolyn (nee Waters) Fichter.

He graduated from West Tech High School in 1953, where he was an epic basketball player. Bruce then went on to Western Reserve to play basketball and graduated in 1962. He worked his entire career for LTV Steel until his retirement. During his retirement, Bruce worked at Ironwood Golf Course. He loved golfing, fishing, camping, cats, bird watching, and road trips with his wife, Shirley.

Bruce will be dearly missed by his daughters, Yvonne Fichter , Linda (Gregory) Bahas, Kathleen (David) Murray, and Laura (Michael) Montini; beloved 12 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren.

Bruce was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Shirley (nee Breno); beloved daughter Carolyn (Joseph) Hege; cherished grandson, Brendan Hall.

Friends may join the family for visitation for Bruce on Sunday, April 18, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina (Corner of Rte. 18 and River Styx Rd.), Ohio, 44256. Monday, April 19, 2021, services will be held from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services. Interment will follow at Reid Hill Cemetery, corner of State Rd. and Reid Hill, Granger Township, Ohio. Please observe recommended social distancing guidelines and masks are required.
