Bruce A. Rininger, 67, passed away at his residence on Friday, May 9, 2014 surrounded by his devoted family. He was born August 30, 1946 in Ravenna, Ohio to Kenneth and Jeannette (Reininger) Rininger.
He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps. and was a Vietnam veteran, having participated in 26 combat missions. He was a member of Windham American Legion Post #674. Bruce was a tow motor operator at Delphi in Warren. He was a member of the Windham Fire Dept. for 20 years and was an avid Browns, Indians and Windham Bomber fan. He coached youth baseball in Windham for many years and was very well known as a football player in high school.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Hedge) Rininger of Windham, whom he married June 14, 1986; sons, Bruce D. (Sandra) of Braceville and Frank of Windham; brother, Jon (Grace) of Windham; sisters, Ellen Myers of Dallas, TX, Phyllis (William) Spencer of Clinton, Iowa and Gloria Fishburn of Mayfield; best friend, Roger Stier of Akron; grandchildren, Allyson, Bradley, Nikole, John and Kasey and a great-grandchild, Keegan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, David and Kenneth.
Calling hours are 5-8 PM on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Oh. 44231. Funeral Services will be at 11 AM on Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Esta Everhart officiating. Burial will follow at Windham Township Cemetery with full military honors.
