Carmela T. (Molly Racco) Scaduto, 96 of Medina passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Medina Village Retirement Center. Carmela was born in Garrett, Pennsylvania on March 10, 1914 to James and Elizabeth (nee Polefrone) Racco and was a homemaker.

She and her husband Anthony have lived in the Akron and Cuyahoga Falls area for most of their married life. She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church and belonged to its St. Monica Society and the Sons of Italy Society. Molly was the first Miss Columbus Day Queen in 1934 sponsored by the Sons of Italy.

Mrs. Scaduto is survived by her daughter Geraldine Chen and the late Phillip Chen of Rockville, Maryland; son Samuel and daughter-in-law Terry Scaduto of Medina; and daughter Carol Ann and son-in-law Gary Heuser of West Chester, Ohio; brother John and sister-in-law Carmela Racco of Akron; sister-in-law Pauline Racco of Cuyahoga Falls; her loving 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony B. Scaduto whom she was married to for 66 years; parents; sister Mary DeMarinis; and brothers Anthony, Phillip, James, Nick, Frank, and Joesph Racco.

Carmela was a loving wife, Mother, and friend to many and will be greatly missed by all.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, December 3, 2010 from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (Corner of Route 18 & River Styx Road), Medina. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Akron. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery.
