CAROL J. OROS

Carol J. Oros (nee Boone), age 85, of Mantua, passed away on July 14, 2020. She was born on November 9, 1934, in Mantua, OH to the late Carl and Vera (nee Reed) Boone.

Carol loved her family and as a mother, devoted time to the PTA, served as a 4-H leader, and girl's softball coach. She enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, and traveling. She was involved in many church activities and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She often dressed as Uncle Sam for the Memorial Day Parade and had an extensive collection of Uncle Sam memorabilia.

She will be dearly missed by her loving daughters, Joanne (Charles) Lott, Jan Oros, and Juli (David) Schmiel; her grandchildren, Kummel (Rachel) Hammel, Heather Hammel, Erin Schmiel, Stephen (Carin), and Philip (Crystal) Schmiel; her seven great grandchildren; and her sister, Erma Hostetler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Steve Oros; her three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may join the family for a visitation at Derthick Farm, 5182 State Route 82 (please use corn maze driveway), Mantua, OH 44255 on Saturday, July 18, 2020, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. where Carol's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Please dress casually. Social distancing rules will apply.
