CAROL ANN PONGONIS

Carol Ann Pongonis (nee Tesar), age 77, of Medina, passed away on March 17, 2023. She was born on June 25, 1945, in Garfield Heights, OH, the fourth of seven siblings, to the late William and Sadie (nee Kreeger) Tesar.

After graduating from Saint Alexis Nursing School, Carol began her lifelong career and calling as a nurse and consummate caregiver where she touched countless lives over many years. She retired from Parma Hospital and continued her career in nursing through the balance of her years at Samaritan Care Center in Medina.

Carol enjoyed spending her free time with her children, grandchildren, long-time friends, and best-friend sisters. She kept active with her energetic dogs (most recently Ruby and Luna), playing pickleball with her friends, watching her grandchildren play sports, and supporting each and every one of her children’s hobbies and interests.

She will be dearly missed, and her memory will forever live on with her loving children, Jeffrey (Nicole) Pongonis, Amy Pongonis, and Daniel (Natacha) Pongonis; her grandchildren, Miranda (Logan), Vaughn, and Sofia; and her siblings, William, Peggy, Tesie, and Timothy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband of 45 years, Joseph Samuel Pongonis and brothers, Jerry and Denny.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road,(Corner of Route 18 & River Styx) Medina, OH 44256. Carol's Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier, 606 E. Washington St., Medina, OH 44256, on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Please meet at St. Francis Xavier Church.
