CHAD A. CURRY

Chad A. Curry, 28, of Kent, OH, formerly of Garrettsville, OH, passed away Friday, February 14, 2025. He was born August 17, 1996, in Ravenna, OH, to James and Kimberly (nee Raab) Curry.  

He was raised in Garrettsville, and was a proud graduate of James A. Garfield High School, belonging to the class of 2015. While in school, Chad was a dedicated musician who contributed to the James A. Garfield Marching Pride, and he also loved the sport of soccer, and played the sport his whole life. After graduation he studied at Kent State University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Psychology. Chad worked at Coleman Health Center in Ravenna, OH for almost a year as a case manager; he was always one to help someone in need. Chad enjoyed rock climbing, cheering on his beloved soccer team, Borussia Dortmund, and attending concerts, as his love of music never wavered. He was a gentleman who made the world a more beautiful place, and will forever be missed by those who were blessed to have him in their lives.  

Chad will forever be missed by his parents, Jim and Kim Curry; grandmother, Cecelia “Cissy” Raab; brother, Matthew (Afton) Curry; niece, Dottie James; beloved fur-baby, Goose, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends. 

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James and Carole Curry, and maternal grandfather, Roy Raab. 

Please join the family for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, March 15, 2025, 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm, at the Nelson Twp. Community House, 11642 Windham Parkman Rd, Garrettsville, OH 44231. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Garfield Band Boosters, 10233 State Route 88, Garrettsville, OH, in Chad’s name, to honor his memory and his love of band.
