Charles "Charlie" Fortney, age 1, of Wadsworth, passed away on October 22, 2018. He was born on March 20, 2017 in Wadsworth, OH.
Charlie loved his life. He met life’s daily challenges, which were magnified for him, with infectious, unbridled optimism and joy. Charlie didn't live long enough, but his short life cut to the heart of what matters. He experienced happiness, and he brightened the lives of everyone he met. He was a one-year old with an old man’s belly laugh, who loved family dance parties and wrestling with his dad and siblings. No one could wear a hat like Charlie boy. No one could smile for a selfie with Mom like he could. Charlie’s eyes weren't just bright and blue, they were the brightest and bluest, his cheeks the chubbiest, his hair the softest. Without him our world is dulled, but his memory challenges us to approach life as he did: with courage, joy, optimism, and above all love.
Charlie will be eternally missed by his parents, Mike and Anne (nee Gardner); sister, Grace and brother, Max; Grandparents Mike and Nancy Fortney and Jay and Connie Gardner; and his Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins, Trav, Laurie, Pearle, Adam, Sara, Madelyn, Aiden, Joe, Lisa, Henry, Miles, Sam, Candice, John, and Will.
