Obituary: Charles "Chuck" Kralik Hiram, Ohio Born September 7, 1917, he died March 3, 2012 at his home. Ninety four years ago, Chuck was born in Cleveland, Ohio and following the death of his father in early childhood, his mother returned to Czechoslovakia with Chuck and his brother Stanley. His early years were as a rose grower in Czechoslovakia. Both sons remained there until their early twenties, returning to work Geauga farms. Chuck was a childhood polio patient and, overcoming his arm’s residual disability, earned his livelihood as a tool and die maker for Chrysler Corp. He married Lenore Koenig in 1946. She predeceased him in 2003 and daughter-in-law, Ann, 2011, his mother and brother. He is survived by his three sons: John (Merrilee), Tom (Barbara) and Alan, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Chuck enjoyed his family, chatting about herbal remedies, his farm and orchard, bee colonies and visits with his Lunch Bunch friends. He was greatly assisted in his later years by his beloved caregiver, Sally and her family. He leaves behind nephews and a niece, remembering his unique laugh and commentaries on life, home remedies and politics. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM-12 noon, Friday, March 9, 2012 at Mallory DeHaven Carlson Funeral Home, 8382 Center Street, Garrettsville, Ohio, 44231.
