Christina Ingeborg (Friedrich) Hoffmann, of Medina, Ohio went into rest on November 11, 2021. Born on February 1, 1937 in Kischker, (Batschka) Serbia, she was the daughter of the late Heinrich and Susanna (Meder) Friedrich.
After surviving confinement in two concentration camps in Serbia, she escaped to Austria and studied sewing at a vocational school in Salzburg. She immigrated to the US with her sisters in 1955 and worked as a seamstress for a men's clothing factory in Cleveland.
Christina was united in marriage to Josef Anton Hoffmann on September 1, 1956 in Cleveland. As mother of seven children and Josef's wife, her full time job was caring for them as well as the farm animals and crops in Medina. She became an expert canner and baker. A longtime member of the Medina County Beekeepers' Association, she won best in show four times as a honey producer at the Medina County Fair. A devout Catholic, she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society at Holy Martyrs Church. Regular voters will remember her as a poll worker at Medina Township Hall. A quiet and introverted soul, Christina enjoyed quality time with friends, family and neighbors. She enjoyed bowling, knitting, gardening and baking. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Josef and is survived by her beloved children: Maria Davison of Florida, Joseph Hoffmann of Illinois, Elisabeth Hoffmann of Washington, DC, Peter Hoffmann of Medina, Robert Hoffmann of Idaho, Walter (Tonia) Hoffmann of Akron and Irene (Christopher) Zurowski of Medina. She was the proud grandmother of Crystal (Timothy) Robinson, Barbara Davison, Timothy Singh, Haley Hoffmann, Matthew Davison, Karl Hoffmann, Alexis Hoffmann, Kayla Zurowski, Oscar Hoffmann, Alana Zurowski and Caleb Zurowski, as well as 4 great-grandchildren.
Christina was preceded in death by her sisters Käthe (Heinz) Benke and Theresa (Stefan) Netzthaler.
Visitation for Christina will be held at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 9:00 - 10:30 am with Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 E Washington St, Medina Ohio 44256. Burial will follow at Medina Cemetery in Medina Township.
