CLARENCE JOSEPH "SMITTY" SMITH JR.

February 28, 1928 — December 6, 2010

Clarence Joseph “Smitty” Smith Jr., 82 of Montville Township passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at his residence. Clarence was born in Providence, Rhode Island on February 28, 1928 to Clarence Sr. and Susan (nee Easterbrooks) and was a United States Marine Veteran during the Korean Conflict as 2nd Lieutenant and received many citations including Service Metal with 2 stars and United Nations Service Medal.

He was member of Medina VFW Post 5137, enjoyed making jewelry, and was employed as a Salesman. Clarence was Salesman“Extraordinaire” and loved telling jokes. He was a true friend to all, and loved cats and his dog Sparky.

He is survived by his son Scott, daughter, Sherrie (husband Eli) and granddaughter, Mallory.

Clarence was preceded in death by his wife Marlene (nee Thralls) and his parents.

Private services for family will be held Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (Corner of Route 18 & River Styx Road), Medina. Interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman
