Constance Champa, age 82, of Brunswick, passed away on November 14, 2018. She was born on April 6, 1936 in Cleveland, OH to the late Rudolph and Sophie (nee Zallar) Champa.
Connie was a member of St. Vitus Catholic Church and attended special classes at both the Standard School and East Madison in Cleveland. She lived most of her life on East 63rd Street surrounded by caring neighbors. She loved all kinds of music. You could find her strumming her guitar to tunes from the 1960 era. She knew and remembered all the lyrics. She loved to polka and waltz at any wedding she attended. Connie was helpful and kind and loved animals and babies. She had a funny sense of humor.
She will be dearly remembered by her twin sister Carol Simcak; nieces, Debbie (Jack) Wentz, Sandy (Steve) Eckrich; nephews, Jerry (Lynn) Simcak, Mark Simcak, Scott (April) Simcak; and many great nieces and nephews, as well as great-great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Gerald Simcak.
The family is forever grateful to the loving and compassionate care Connie received during the last several years at Ganyard House, TLC in Brunswick, OH. Also, a big thank you to Hospice of Medina County and all the music therapy she was given to keep her comfortable and tapping her toes.
Friends may join the family for Connie’s visitation on Monday, November 19, from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, OH 44256. A mass of Christian Burial will be held for Connie on Tuesday, November 20, at 10:30 AM at St. Francis Xavier Church, 606 E. Washington St., Medina, OH 44256. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon, OH.
