Cooper William Gatewood, age 19, passed away on Thursday, July 15th. Cooper was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Kirsten Malcolm Gatewood and Claude W. Gatewood.
Cooper graduated from Medina High School on May 25, 2019. He was attending the University of Akron pursuing a Biology degree. Cooper was in the Pit Percussion for Medina Musical Bees Marching Band. He loved his Directors and band mates, and found his best friends for life in Marching Band. He played the Marimba. Cooper was awarded the "Most Missed Alumni" superlative at his Senior Year marching band banquet by his band mates.
Cooper meant so much to all of us and he enriched all of our lives. To honor Cooper's life we ask that people consider continuing Cooper's legacy of inspiring ways to give back and make our community and world a better and kinder one.
