CORNELIOUS BYRD

Cornealious Byrd, 93, of Brunswick, went to the heavens Monday, September 24, 2018 at his home with his family by his side. He was born June 10, 1925 in Newport, Tennessee to Andrew and Ella Byrd.

After marrying his dear wife, Euretha, he relocated his family to Ohio in 1952 to work for Republic Steel, where he retired in 1983. Cornealious loved to fish, hunt, and raise a garden. He was a hard-worker his entire life, and always offered help to people. Cornealious loved to spend time with his family.

He will be deeply missed by his wife of 69 years, Euretha Byrd (nee Brooks); son, James (Ellie) Byrd of Medina; 4 grandchildren, Bret Byrd of Brunswick, Jeremy (Cory) Byrd of Brunswick, Dr. Serena Byrd of Hobokan, NJ, Corrine Byrd of Medina; 4 great-grandchildren, Ryan, Tori, Jesse, Adam; 2 sisters-in-law, Nancy Hawk of Newport, TN. and Emma Byrd of Newport, TN.; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Cornealious was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Ella Byrd; 3 brothers, Earl, Fred, Doyle; 5 sisters, Mable Denton, Thelma Clowers, Alma Buckner, Eddith Britt, Illa Byrd; great-grandchild, Jacob Byrd.

Friends may join the family for visitation on Thursday, September 27, 2018 from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, (1/2 mile south of Route 303) Brunswick, OH 44212. A Funeral Service will be held for Cornealious on Friday, September 28 at 11:00AM at the funeral home. There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Memory Gardens in Brunswick, OH.
