CYNTHIA KEELEY

March 22, 1937 — June 24, 2024

Medina

Cynthia Hess Keeley, of Forest Hills, NY, died in Medina, OH on Monday, June 24, 2024. She was born March 22, 1937, to the late Angela (Matheson) and Richard Hess. Cindy was married to Thomas Wright Keeley, and she is survived by her children: Rik (Kathy), Carolyn Matheson, Jeff (Laurie) and Rod (Lisa). She cherished her grandchildren: Alleiah, Connor (Amanda), Audrey (Austin), Joe (Alexandra), Samantha (Curtis), Alexis, Colin and Madison, and her great-grandson Teddy. Cindy was preceded in death by her husband, her son Jonathan Brinson and her brother Richard.

Cindy found her “second wind” with dogs after wonderfully raising five kids. Being actively involved in the Episcopal churches in Canton and Chagrin Falls gave her pleasure. She and Tom moved back to Northeast Ohio after their twenty years in England where they shared a love of Labradors, the shoot, and had created Darleigh Kennels – puppies everywhere!

She was the “hostess with the mostest” as she always welcomed and hosted any and all friends and neighbors with open arms and doors. Her wit, fire and sense of humor were rivaled by her love of sports, being active and challenging the norms. She held her family and friends close and loved fiercely – always being the protective mama bear… but watch-out if you got on her bad side!

Cindy was a graduate of Case Western Reserve’s Organizational Development Master’s program and received her associate’s degree from Briarcliff college in New York.

Wope lopove yopou opand mopiss yopou!

Cindy’s ashes will soon join Jon’s and Tom’s in the scatter garden at the National D-Day Memorial in Bedford, VA.

In-lieu of flowers, donations in Cindy’s name can be made to the Lake Erie Labrador

Retriever Rescue at https://www.lelrr.org/donate.html.
