DALE M. "MARTY" WHITCOMB
April 14, 1952 — April 17, 2011
Dale “Marty” M. Whitcomb, 59 of Euclid passed away after a hard battle with illness on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Kindred Hospital in Cleveland. He was born April 14, 1952 to Dale R. and Barbara Ann (nee Clark) Whitcomb.
Marty retired in 2000 after 22 years at LTV Steel. Marty graduated from Brunswick High School in 1970 and was a member and Financial Secretary of Steelworker #1179. He loved playing softball and pool and all types of sports. He enjoyed oil painting and especially drawing.
He is survived by his wife Dorene (nee Edmisten), children of Dale and Grace: Brian R. of Rocky River, Brent M. of Parma, Barbara of Parma, stepchildren: Crystal (Michael) Strauch of Euclid, Rachel Vitolo of Mentor and Tracy (Jay) Geizer of Mentor, sisters and brothers: Sharon P. (George) Rayk of Brunswick, Wayne (Peg) Whitcomb of Texas, Gloria E. (Jeff) Boyer of Texas and Gary M. (Denise) Whitcomb of Brunswick, grandchildren: Logan Whitcomb, Seth Zipf, Hailey Vitolo, Elizabeth Strauch, Tyler Vitolo and Alyssa Geizer. He was a beloved nephew.
Preceding Marty in death were his parents.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Tuesday April 19, 2011 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Route 303), Brunswick. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday April 20, 2011 at 1 PM at the Funeral Home.
