DANIEL REED SMITH

Daniel Reed Smith, age 53, born on February 13th, 1962 and passed away unexpectedly on July 25th, 2015. Husband to Sherry, loving father to Briony, Dustin and Jocelyn. Survived by father William, devoted mother Gloria, sister Cindy, brother Roger (Tracy), numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins.

Daniel grew up on the family farm in Medina, Ohio, eventually following the footsteps of his father by working at Ford Motor Company as a machine repairman after spending 16 years at MTD. He gained his skills through hard work, dedication and an apprenticeship. On any given day you could find him out in his barn, surrounded by his tools, tractors and every piece of equipment imaginable. He loved his best friends Johnny Cash and Jack Daniels, shooting guns, riding his motorcycle and most of all giving his children hell in a loving way.

He was an active member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles and Medina's Loyal Order of Moose. While his time here with us was cut vastly short, he will always be remembered and loved because he had a personality that was too big to miss.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, July 31, 2015 from 2 to 7 PM with a Service to follow at 7 PM with Pastor William Ludwig as Celebrant at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (corner of River Styx and Rt. 18), Medina, Ohio.
