Dennis “Denny” Basalla, 67 of Brunswick passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 25, 2010 in Brunswick, Ohio. He was born November 26, 1942 to Andy and Renalda (nee McConnell) Basalla. Dennis was a United States Army veteran and a computer repair technician at Unisys Corporation for 36 years.
Dennis was a Basillian Associate, active in the St. Emilian Byzantine Catholic Church, enjoyed traveling and loved by many.
Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Beverly Basalla (nee Hartsek); his children, Matthew (Lisa) Basalla, Mark (Kristen) Basalla and Marcy (Matthew) Weber; his sister, Donna (David) Dangel and sister-in-law, Teresa (Joseph) Hrovat; 8 grandchildren, Brittany, Andrew, Jacqueline, Christine, Brian, Kevin, David and Abigail.
He was preceded in death by his parents Andy and Renalda (nee McConnell) Basalla.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Tuesday, June 29, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 P.M., with a Parastás service at 7:30 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Route 303), Brunswick. Divine Liturgy to be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Emilian Byzantine Catholic Church, 1231 Substation Road, Brunswick with Father Marek Visnosky officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Spirit Cemetery located at 5500 West 54th Street in Parma, Ohio.
At the family’s request in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Emilian Byzantine Catholic Church in Dennis’s name.
