Dolores M. Bacisin (Gaede), 91, born February 19, 1932, in Cleveland passed peacefully on September 11, 2023 at Willowood Care Center in Brunswick.
Dolores graduated from St. Stephens High School in 1950. She became a secretary and in 1955 an airline stewardess for American Airlines. In 1956, she married Andy Bacisin, Jr. and they were married 44 years.
Dolores and Andy began their family life in Cleveland where they raised their five children. She enjoyed being a mother to her children and a home-maker for many years. They moved to Vermilion for several years and then Avon to be closer to their children.
Dolores was a faithful Catholic, attended church regularly and in her last years would have her hands clasped in prayer. She enjoyed tole painting, an artistic ability she discovered when she was in her fifties. Her beautiful artwork is displayed proudly in all of her children’s and grandchildren’s homes. She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles (the more pieces, the better), reading and thrift shopping.
When the grandchildren began arriving, Dolores seemed to be at her happiest. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and singing to and with them.
Dolores was preceded in death by parents, Edward and Rose Gaede, husband, Andy, infant son Gerard; Sisters Rosemarie (Charles) Domke and Eleanor (George) Riehl; in-laws John (Helen) Bacisin, nephew Robert Bacisin-Baron.
She is survived by children Dolores, Mark (Teresa), Thomas (Kimberly), John (Cynthia), and James (Patricia); 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, cousins, niece and nephews.
Her family would like to thank Plum Creek Assisted Living (Brunswick), Kemper House (Strongsville) and Willowood Care Center (Brunswick) for caring for Dolores.
A Memorial Mass for Dolores and Andy will be held at St. Ambrose Church in Brunswick on October 21, 2023 at 10 AM. Interments will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Brookpark. Carlson Funeral Home (Medina) handled the arrangements.
