DONALD RAY CALHOUN

Donald Ray Calhoun, age 84 of Copley, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2016.
He was born on August 13, 1931 to Forrest Raymond and Eunice Myrtle (nee Jones) Calhoun in Tyler Texas. He and Lyla Lea (nee Spongberg) were married on March 6, 1954.
Donald was a proud Veteran in the United States Air Force for 23 years. During his employment years he was Manager with Syntex Lab Pharmaceutical Sales for 15 years; he also was a Private Consultant in Sales Management and Training. Donald enjoyed teaching Bible Study at Medina First Christian Church and singing in the choir. In his private time he enjoyed golf, and was an avid reader.
He will be dearly missed by his wife; children, Dennis (Susan), Sheryl (Clarke) Montford, Shaun (Nicki) and Scott (Allison); grandchildren, Elly (Roozbeh), Abby, Hannah and Ian, Shannon (Trino), Lyle, Matthew (Kara), Erin and Logan; his three great-grandchildren also his brother-in-law Andrew (Sarah) Spongberg. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Connor Calhoun and in-laws Lyle and Bula Spongberg.
Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 11 AM at the Medina First Christian Church-Disciples of Christ, 4797 Sharon Copley Road, Medina, Ohio 44256; followed by a luncheon at the church. Inurnment will take place at a later date in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery Rittman. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to the Medina First Christian Church for the Children’s Bible Fund or a charity of your choice.
