DONALD "DON" W. WALTERS

Donald “Don” W. Walters, 80, of Freedom Twp., OH, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side Sunday, December 22, 2024. He was born May 21, 1944, in Kent, OH, to the late Raymond and Mary (nee Hawkins) Walters. 

Don met the love of his life, Carolyn, and they married in 1964. Together raised 3 children, and enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family. Don truly loved playing softball, and managed to play one more year to be on the same team as his son. 

Don will forever be missed by his wife, Carolyn, with whom he was blessed to share 60 years of marriage; children, Kenneth (Roseanna) Walters, Linda (Sonny) Rumsey, and Keith Walters; grandchildren, Samantha Rumsey, Mariah Walters, and Taylor Walters; great grandchildren, Jaydon Winn, Alexandria “Allie” Deverick, Jaxson Deverick, and Evelyn “Evie” Kennedy; siblings, Clifford (Jenny) Walters and Diana Walters, as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Alden “Bud” (Norma) Walters, Charles “Lefty” (Joyce) Walters, and Neil Walters, as well as son-in-law, Brian Johnson.  

Please join the family for a visitation Friday, December 27, 2024, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. A funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 12:00 p.m., with Becky Griffin officiating. Don will then be taken to Drakesburg Cemetery, where he will lovingly be laid to rest.
