Donald Wayne Placek, age 74, of Brunswick passed away at the Cleveland Clinic on Tuesday, October 8, 2013. Donald was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 5, 1939 to Thaddeus L. and Clara (nee Tylicki) Placek.
He married Jeanette (nee Filo) on January 25, 1964. He was a Navy Veteran serving with the Beach Jumper Unit Two, which he attended gatherings annually. Donald was employed as a System Analyst in the Banking Industry. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, boating, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 50 years Jeanette, son, Dean (Kimberly), daughter; Denise (Mike) Frantz, grandchildren; Dusty Frantz, Kristen Frantz and Angel Placek, his brother and sisters; Barbara Hrabak, Darlene (Gene) Rees, Norman (Pat) Placek.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 14, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services 3477 Medina Road (corner of Rt. 18 & River Styx Rd) Medina, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 11 AM with a 1 hour prior Visitation, 10 to 11 AM at St. Ambrose Parish Church 929 Pearl Road, Brunswick, Ohio. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Burial in Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman, Ohio.
