Dorothy L. Adams Ludwig, 101, formerly of Newton Falls, went home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 1, 2022, at her home in Chandler, AZ, with her loving family by her side. She was born March 2, 1921, in Clay, WV, to the late George and Myrtle (nee Thomas) Dotson.
She was a hair stylist who owned and operated Deanna’s Beauty Salon in Kent for many years. Dorothy was artistically creative in general and added so much loveliness to the world. She was an accomplished artist, who was self-taught by watching Bob Ross and reading his instructional books; Dorothy was still painting at 100 years old! She also created amazing ceramics, as well as knitting and crocheting. She left OH to move to Chandler, AZ, where she’s been for the past 29 years. Dorothy appreciated the warm weather, and she wanted to be close to extended family. When in AZ, she really enjoyed going to church, playing mahjong with friends, going out to eat with friends and family, and of course, painting her masterpieces. Dorothy had a real zest for life and had an artist’s eye to help make her world beautiful.
Dorothy will be deeply missed by her children, Larry Cutright of Chandler, AZ, Linda Zhang of Vermilion, OH, and Gary (Lynn) Adams of Glendale, AZ; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, as well as many nephews, nieces, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Emmett Adams, Jr. and Orland Ludwig; sons, Earl Cutright and Robert Cutright; grandson, James Cutright, and several siblings.
Per Dorothy’s wishes, she is to be cremated. Dorothy will be laid to rest by her beloved husband, Emmett Adams, Jr., at Park Cemetery in Garrettsville, OH, at a later date. Care for Dorothy was entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
