Dorothy B. Ebelender, 86, of Middlefield, went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 17, 2022. She was born on April 27, 1935, in Cleveland to the late Andrew and Barbara (nee Mikovsky) Barnovsky.
She was a lifetime member of St. Edward's parish. Dorothy was an accomplished baker and was known for her fruitcakes. She enjoyed cross-stitching and embroidery. Dorothy was a proud 50 year member of Alcoholics Anonymous, and truly lived by the program; her granddaughter called her "The Beyonce of AA". She made a yearly trip to Cook's Forest and loved to travel.
Dorothy will be deeply missed by her son, Joseph (Mitzi) Ebelender; grandchildren, Joseph (Nicki) Ebelender, Jr., and Jessica (Tom) Ripley; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Waybrant, Madeline Ebelender, Mason Mullet, Christopher Ebelender, and Cassidy Cameron; brothers, Andrew Barnovsky and Robert (Janet) Barnovsky, as well as many nephews, nieces, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings, Edward Barnovsky, and Joanne Jefferson.
The family would like to invite friends to join them for a visitation to honor Dorothy's life on Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH, 44231. A prayer service will begin at the funeral home at 12:00 P.M., with Father Jacob Bearer officiating. Dorothy will then be laid to rest immediately after at Overlook Cemetery in Parkman.
