Douglas Winning McCrory, age 81, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2019. He was born on July 26, 1938, in Lakewood, OH to the late Samuel and Frances (nee Olsavsky) McCrory.
Douglas enjoyed being around his family & friends, the outdoors, tinkering on projects, being with his fur babies, telling jokes, classic country music, and loved planning ” Big” parties. Douglas was also in the Army National Guard. He was retired from Pomacon, and also worked at Lucas Machinery & Van Dorn.
He will be dearly missed by his loving daughters & stepchildren, Debbie Morey, Mary Jo (Brian) Iscrupe, Colleen Munsey, Debbie (John) Severs, Kenny (Theresa) Baisden, Jamie (Beth) Baisden; brother, Sheldon (Rose) McCrory; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and Maryanne McCrory (mother of his children).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta (nee Scaggs), sister Sally (Otto) Kossmann, and grandson, Jeremy Severs.
Friends may join the family for a Celebration of Doug’s Life at a later date to be announced at Valley City VFW Post #5563. A private Graveside Service will be held for Douglas at Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Valley City, OH. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road, Brunswick, OH 44212.
