Edgar J. Lind 82, was a long time resident of Medina Township, passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at his residence. Born March 7, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan to George and Helena (nee Kendrick) Lind.
He was a good Christian Man, loving husband, caring father, grand-father and loyal friend. He was married to his life-long sweetheart Anita, for 61 years. His love extended to his caring for his mother and mother–in-law and raising his 8 children, and 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Ed was called Grandpa by many other children. He was a very caring and generous man that would help anyone in need. He was a member of the Weymouth Community Church. He was employed for 42 years at PPG Industries as a Shader. Ed was known for over 40 years as a Livestock Dealer whose clients came from all over the state. He enjoyed going to auctions.
Surviving children include sons; Kent (Pam), Ryan (Sue), Eric (Denise), Dale (Dawn) and Ven, daughters; Jill Norton, Dian Lind (Randy), Luan Haas (John), grandchildren, and brother, Alvin (wife Jill) and sister Clara MacMillan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant child Kyle, grandchild Adam King, and his brother-in-law Paul MacMillan.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 from 6 to 8 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road (Corner of Route 18 & River Styx Road), Medina. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 11 AM at the Funeral Home. Pastor Jerry Roth assisted by Pastor John Beers will officiate the service. Burial to follow in Eastlawn Memory Gardens, Brunswick, Ohio.
