Please meet at church.Photo: Obituary: "Together Again" Elizabeth “Betty” Schreckengost, 82, of Middlefield, formerly of Garrettsville, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 at University Hospital in Cleveland. She was born June 28, 1929 in Natrona, PA to the late Steven and Pauline Barbara (Cedzo) Gaydos. Betty was a homemaker and enjoyed baking, cooking, puzzles and playing bingo. She was an avid bird watcher and was always helping others and her friends in need. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Betty is survived by her sons Steven (Carrie) of Kent, Dennis (Linda) of Hiram, Ronald (April) of Hartsgrove, Gary of Burton, and Charles (Sherry) of West Farmington; daughters Judith Carr of Irwin, PA, Janice (Walter) Greenway of Burton, Karen (Scott) Hageman of Chagrin Falls and Barbara Schreckengost of Akron; sisters Frances Retecki of Vandergrift, PA, Joan Brezinski of Natrona, PA, and Josephine Murphy of New Jersey; 31 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin, sons Melvin Jr. and David, brother Edward Gaydos, and sister Agnes Wypych. Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
