Elmer John Pesecky, 88, of Garrettsville, passed into the loving hands of his Savior, on Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at home, with his loving family at his side.
He was born August 1, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio, the loving and only son of Martin and Mary (Ungrady) Pesecky; and was step-son to Leo White. Elmer, with Mary and Leo White were the proud owners of Deluxe Cleaners in Garrettsville, which has been in business for over 65 years. He was loved by his customers and he loved them too!
Elmer attended U.S. Marine’s Officer’s Training School between 1943 and 1946. He also attended college in Rochester, NY. He was a longtime active member of St. Ambrose Church and during his life enjoyed bowling, golf, playing card games and outdoor activities with friends and family. He coached his children in youth sports and attended many, many family sporting events.
Survivors include his loving, faithful wife, Mary, whom he married August 24, 2001; two sons, Elmer (Connie); Jeffrey; daughter, Carol (Jack) Pollock; step-children, Rhonda (James) Stegall; Dennis (Peggy) Suderman; loving brother-in-law, George Kacala; grandchildren, Matthew, Katie, Kimberly, Nicole, Ryan, Christina, Sarah, Brooke, Mark, Justin, Drake, Mary, Gracie, Liza and four great-granddaughters.
Elmer was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Marcella; and brother and sister in law.
Calling hours are 6-8 PM on Friday, February 28, 2014 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 AM on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Very Rev. Richard J. Pentello officiating. PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH. Burial will be at Park Cemetery, Garrettsville.
