Ernest "Ernie" Russell Anderson

: Photo: Obituary: Ernest “Ernie “Russell Anderson, 65, of Nelson, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 suddenly in his home. He was born December 1, 1946 to Wilbur and Joanne (Benson) Anderson in New Castle, PA. Ernie was an Army veteran who served in Germany. He was an engineer most of his life with long employment with Exxon Mobil. Ernie attended Nelson United Methodist Church and was a member of the American Legion Post # 674. He was a lover of life and humor. Ernie enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching his grandkids sporting events. He cherished spending time with his beloved family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 41 years Shirley (Gumley); son Scott ( Juanita ) Anderson of Nelson; grandchildren Dominic and Julia of Nelson; brother Tim Anderson of Bessemer; sister-in-law Norma ( Donald ) Thompson of PA.; brother-in-law Charles Gumley of PA.; sister-in-law Carol ( Gary ) Bales of Arkansas; and many loving family members and extended family members. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Linnea Roberts. Friends may join the family for visitation on Friday, July 13, 2012 from 5-7 P.M. at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home 8382 Center St. Garrettsville, OH 44231. His funeral service will follow immediately after visitation at 7 P.M. at the funeral home with military honors to follow. Private graveside services will be held.
