Evelyn Roose, 82, of Southington, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2017. She was born on December 26, 1934 to Everett and Mary (Cantrell) Colegrove in Portsmouth, Ohio. Evelyn married the love of her life, George E. Roose in 1961.
She enjoyed mother/daughter shopping trips, dining at various restaurants, antique collection, gardening, flowers and yardwork. Evelyn was a lover of animals. She spent time rescuing, feeding and walking dogs in the woods. Evelyn was a private secretary to Attorney John Masternick, Sr. for 40 years. She cherished her time spent with her daughter and son in law, Sean.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Sean P.) Roose-Casey of Boardman; sister, Doris Bratnick; special friend, Don Augusta and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Anna Vasil and nieces, Kelly Sabau and Christine Bierce.
Honoring Evelyn’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private memorial and luncheon will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, Ohio.
