Floyd G. Adams, 91, a long-time resident of West Farmington, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 19,2014. He was born July 1, 1923 in Holly Springs,Mississippi to J.R. and Nellie (Little John) Adams.
He served honorably in the U.S. Army in WWII. Floyd retired from White Motor Company after 33 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, and loved his dogs and the great outdoors. Floyd was an avid farmer. He enjoyed his many Amish friends and neighbors, and especially cherished time spent with his beloved family and friends.
Floyd is survived by his children, Diane Bradford of Toledo, Elaine (Romeo) Dansby of Walton Hills, Marie (Luther) Fortson of Ravenna, Floyd Adams Jr. of Toledo, Cheryl James of Walton Hills, Eloise Norwood of Toledo, James (Mary) Adams of Brook Park, Claude Adams of Texas, and Sheron Adams of Toledo; sister, Eloyse Carney of Chicago; numerous grandchildren, many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; nephew and hunting companion, Bernard Adams, and many more loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Elva A. (Simpson) Adams; son, Douglas Blankenship; and daughter, Linda Derricoatte. The youngest of 22 children, he was preceded in death by 20 brothers and sisters.
Friends may join the family for calling hours from 10-11 AM on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
