FRANCIS ALFRED DIMARCO

Francis "Frank" Alfred DiMarco, age 71, of Vermilion, passed away on August 6, 2018. He was born on April 7, 1947 in Bronx, NY to Benedict and Laura (nee Novara) DiMarco.
Frank was a resident of Medina County for 40 years. He enjoyed time with his family, especially his 4 grandchildren. He was a graduate of OSU and an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cleveland sports fan, as well as a motorcycle enthusiast. In the winter, he enjoyed time at his RV in Arizona. Frank was a chef, not only for restaurants, but for his family. He was a business owner and then followed as a substitute teacher at Buckeye Local Schools. Frank was in the Navy and a proud Vietnam veteran. He volunteered at Holy Martyrs, St. Martin of Tours and ACCESS homeless shelter for women and children.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Marguerite "Peg" (nee Mackert); children, Laura (Ivan) Tornes, Dana (Nick) Hoover, Benedict (Amanda) DiMarco; grandchildren, Dylan, Nicholas, Ella, and Jackson; sister, Therese (Mike) Mezak; brothers-in-law, George (Sharon) Mackert and Brian (Kathy) Mackert; sister-in-law Linda (Steve) Miller Forgeson; along with many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Benedict and Laura (nee Novara) DiMarco and daughter Theresa Marguerite DiMarco.
Friends may join the family for visitation on Monday, August 13, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 3477 Medina Road, Medina, OH 44256. A Funeral Service will be held for Frank on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Seville, OH.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Frank's name to Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing Lead Screening Project which screens children in Cleveland Public schools, ages 3-5 years old, for lead. Cleveland children have lead levels higher than children in Flint, Michigan. Frank bought ice cream sandwiches for all the children screened for lead this year.
