FRANCIS "ANDY" METZ
June 7, 1927 — February 19, 2011
Francis "Andy" Metz, 83, of Garrettsville, passed away Saturday, February 19, 2011, in his home in the presence of his loving family. He was born June 7, 1927, to Elisha and Stella (Deuley) Metz in Weston, West Virginia.
Andy retired from the Ohio Turnpike after 33 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his beloved family and friends.
He is survived by his children Barbara (Orville) West of Garrettsville, Joseph Metz of Alliance, Beverley (Danny) Guy of Deerfield, James (Carolyn) Metz of Girard, and Peggy (Ed) Kristoff- Gancs of Garrettsville; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Andy was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn (Price), daughter Janet, son Clarence Wayne, his parents, brothers; John, Claude, George, June, Earl, and Harley.
Friends may join the family on Monday, February 21, 2011, from 6-8 P.M. and one hour prior to funeral services at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at noon with Reverend Brian Metz officiating. Burial will take place at Drakesburg Cemetery in Freedom.
