Photo Obituary: Frank Andrew Visocan, 89 of Freedom Township, passed away on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 7:00 a.m. at home. He was born September 9, 1923 in Nelson, OH to the late Steve and Elizabeth (Jakubianec) Visocan. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Motor Machinist Mate 2nd Class from March 1944 to May 1946. Frank was employed for over 28 years at the Chrysler Stamping plant in Twinsburg, OH in automation repair. He remained a staunch supporter of the United Auto Workers Union after his retirement. Mr. Visocan enjoyed farming, gardening, fishing in his own pond, and beekeeping. He was also an avid reader. Frank is survived by his loving wife, Elisabeth “Betty” (Bosma) Visocan of 65 years, whom he married April 26, 1947, and his four daughters, Phyllis Visocan, (Robert Vleugels) of Dublin, Shirley Kangas of University Heights, Patricia Dahl (Eugene) of Texas and Donna Visocan of Virginia. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, Laura Vleugels, Ruth Ann Vleugels, Donna Marie Hepper, Mark, Frank, Elizabeth and Elena Vleugels; Paul, Philip and David Kangas and Jennifer Berendt; Emil and Stefan Dahl, and Elizabeth Ritter; and Andrew Visocan; as well as twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his eight brothers, Steve, John, Joseph, Bill, George, James, Edward and Paul; and three sisters, Cecelia Brom, Betty Sivon and Dorothy Visocan and son-in-law, Michael Kangas. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Mr. Visocan will be laid to rest at a private burial service with full military honors at Harrington Cemetery in Nelson, OH in the spring.
