FRED A. CORBIN

Fred A. Corbin, 73 of Brunswick, formerly of Fairmont, West Virginia, passed away November 3, 2010 at Southwest Hospice in Strongsville, Ohio. He was born May 9, 1937 in Fairmont, West Virginia to Joe and Mrytle (nee Rudy) Corbin.

Fred married Narlene in 1958 and shared 52 years together. He was a Unites States Army veteran and served as a Military Officer for over 20 years. Fred was a retired Parma Senior High School Teacher (S.T.R.S.) and formerly employed with R.M.G. Industries. He was a 33rd Degree Mason in Fairmont, West Virginia. Fred was a member of the VFW in Fairmont, West Virginia and also was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #3505 and American Legion #234 in Brunswick. Fred enjoyed playing cards, yard and gardening, cooking and his fellow workers. Fred was an avid trout fisherman, loved the outdoors, an animal lover and enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children Glenn A. (Lisa) Corbin of Medina, Fred M. Corbin of Brunswick; siblings Bill Corbin of Fairmont, West Virginia, Edwin “Bugs” (Sunday) Corbin of Texas, Alfred Corbin of Fairmont, West Virginia, Karen Garrity of Fairmont, West Virginia and Fairy Franks of Fairmont, West Virginia, Edie (Russ) Stacey of Fairmont, West Virginia, Ruth (Howard) Harris of Fairmont, West Virginia and June (Virgil) Smith of Grafton, Ohio; and granddaughter Taryn Marie Corbin of North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Weyman and Randy, sister Dorla, brother-in-law Sonny Franks, and sister-in-laws JoAnn and Nancy Corbin.

Memorial visitation will be held Monday, November 8, 2010 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Carlson Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, 1642 Pearl Road (1/2 mile South of Rt. 303) Brunswick, Ohio. Funeral services will immediately follow at 7:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home with Pator Dan Barfell officiating. Inurnment at a later date.
