GAIL BROWN

March 21, 1949 — October 18, 2022

Gail Brown, 74, of Windham, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 due to complications from the interaction of multiple bouts of Covid with severe asthma. She was born March 21, 1948 in Statesville, NC to the late James and Margaret (Huffman) Stone.

Gail was a resident of Homer, Alaska, for 20 years until 2017, when she and her husband Roger, moved to Windham, Ohio, to be closer to family. Together they built an interesting life. Having lived in Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky and Alaska life was always an adventure. While the people they met and the memories made in each of those places helped to shape the woman we loved; Alaska kept a piece of her heart.

If she wasn't in the kitchen cooking and canning, she was sewing and crafting. The giving of her homemade treasures was her love language. Life had not always been kind to her. Those difficulties early on in life gave her a resiliency and compassion that she shared with everyone she met. In the course of their work together in Roger's many years of ministry she would become mother to those he brought home needing a warm meal, a place to sleep, and a chance to change their own difficult situations. It wasn't always an easy task, but she opened her home and heart to many. She taught her children to trust in the reality of Hebrews 13:5-6. God Provides. Take care of others and He will take care of your needs. No man can truly harm you when the Lord is your protection.

Gail will be deeply missed by her loving husband, Roger, with whom she was blessed to share 54 years of marriage; daughters, Nicole Arnold (Randall) of Kingston Springs, TN; Amy Brown & Courtney Brown of Paducah, KY; grandchildren, Tristan (Leigha) Arnold of Henderson, TN; Ethan Arnold & Abbe Arnold of Kingston Springs, TN; Roger's 6 siblings she loved like her own and many nephews, nieces, and cherished friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Stone, mother, Margaret Stone, and her 7 brothers and sisters: Elizabeth, AJ, Ralph, Eugene, Johnetta, Mary Ellen, and Connie.

Per Gail's wishes, she is to be cremated. Please join her family for a memorial visitation on Saturday, October 22, 2022, from 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at Mallory-DeHaven-Carlson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 8382 Center St., Garrettsville, OH 44231.
